Is it free to sign up as an ambassador?

Completely free. There are no signup fees, no monthly fees, and no placement costs. Shelvian earns a small service fee from brands — ambassadors keep 100% of their agreed shift rate.
How do I get verified and approved?

Verification takes under 10 minutes. You'll need a government-issued ID (for identity verification), a profile photo, and your ZIP code. Background checks run automatically in the background — you can browse shifts while verification completes.
How and when do I get paid?

You get paid within 24 hours of a verified shift completion via Stripe direct deposit. You'll need to connect a bank account before your first payout — this takes about 2 minutes in-app.
What if I need to cancel a shift?
+
Life happens. Cancellations more than 24 hours before a shift have no penalty. Cancellations within 24 hours result in a reliability strike — two strikes in 90 days pauses your ability to claim new shifts temporarily. Brands depend on ambassadors showing up, so we take reliability seriously.
Do I need food handler certification?
+
Food and beverage sampling shifts require a valid food handler certificate in most states. You can upload your certification in your profile. If you don't have one, many states offer a free or low-cost 2-hour online course. We'll flag which shifts require it before you claim.
How does the Top Pro rating work?
+
Top Pro status is unlocked after completing 25 shifts with a rating of 4.8 stars or above and a show rate of 97%+. Once unlocked, you get early shift access, premium shift rates, and eligibility for brand direct invites. Your status is reviewed monthly.
